PATRICK GERICKE, an Engineer and former Senior Army Officer is the Founder of and Managing Partner behind the company.  He is a leading advocate of this programme’s many benefits which he set up to get people back to  adventuring, orienteering, and to life skill basics of survival in the Irish countryside.

His experience in all the adventure activities being promoted comes from his youthful enthusiastic involvement with Boy Scouts followed by his many years’ active service as a Senior Officer in the Armed Forces in Africa.  This was at a time when digital technology such as GPS was unheard of and survival in inhospitable environments required such skills to survive.

It might be good to recognise the man behind the position and understand why he is the perfect man for the job. His passion and background in promoting Map Reading & Orienteering as an important basic life skill was hard earned.

He is supported in his vision by an able team with similar enthusiasm and experience.

During this time he has led disaster response operations and consulting work in more than 50 countries responding to natural disasters and conflict emergencies. He is an expert in emergency preparedness, response and recovery with deep experience in first responder training. After over 20 years with the Red Cross he formed the Global Emergency Group (GEG), a specialised emergency response firm. He is fluent in Swahili and also speaks French and Spanish.
